For feeding power to the machine, there is a Micro-USB connector. Via Sync and MIDI ports, musicians can integrate the Dato Duo into a studio setup. Alternatively, it is possible to connect the instrument to monitor speakers, a HiFi system or headphones. A speaker at the bottom of the Dato Duo allows users to listen to their music without any additional equipment. It features a range of two octaves plus transpose options. The synthesizer can be played in real-time via a built-in pentatonic keyboard. Four buttons allow users to momentarily add glide and accent functions as well as bit reduction and delay effects. For processing signals, there is a low pass filter with adjustable cutoff and resonance parameters. The synthesizer's VCA comes equipped with a level potentiometer and a decay envelope. A potentiometer allows users to detune or deactivate the saw oscillator. The other produces pulse waves with variable width. One of them generates a saw tooth waveform. The Duo’s synthesizer features two oscillators. Audio, Sync and MIDI ports make it possible to connect the machine to studio setups. A built-in speaker allows users to be creative anywhere. Thanks to the control elements being divided into two sections, several music enthusiasts can work on tracks simultaneously. The front panel offers not only lettering, but small graphics as well. In short: The Duo comes equipped with everything budding producers need for starting their music career. The machine is composed of a monophonic synthesizer with pentatonic keyboard, effects, a step sequencer and drum sounds. The Dato Duo introduces music enthusiasts to subtractive synthesis and sequencing in a playful way.
